Palm Linux OS is delayed

There are reports that the new Linux-based Palm OS will not see the light of day until the end of 2008 at the earliest.
Palm this week told the Guardian “it will be 12 to 18 months” before the new OS arrives. This may well see it slip into the psychologically-damaging territory of 2009.
Half of Palm’s product lines use the ageing Garnet OS while 50% are currently running on Windows Mobile. With little chance of Garnet keeping up with progressions in smartphone technology, Palm will be relying on Windows Mobile to plug the gap for some time.
